Meet the authors:

LJ Shen

L.J. Shen is an International #1 best-selling author of Contemporary Romance and New Adult novels. She lives in Northern California with her husband, young son and chubby cat.

Before she’d settled down, L.J. (who thinks referring to herself in the third person is really silly, by the way) traveled the world, and collected friends from all across the globe. Friends who’d be happy to report that she is a rubbish companion, always forgets peoples’ birthdays and never sends Christmas cards.

She enjoys the simple things in life, like spending time with her family and friends, reading, HBO, Netflix and internet-stalking Stephen James. She reads between three to five books a week and firmly believes Crocs shoes and mullets should be outlawed.

Adriana Locke:

A contemporary romance author running on coffee and sticky kisses from my rowdy four little boys.

From Indiana, I’m a true Mid-Westerner. Life, for me, is about family, faith, and food. When I’m not running my kiddos around or having a lunch date of fajitas with my husband (and high school sweetheart), you can find me outside. I love a good sunny day almost as much as I love candy, random quotes, and steamy bad boys in fantastic books.

I’m on nearly every social media platform. Please find me on the ones you frequent – I love chatting with readers.

Mandi Beck:

Mandi Beck has been an avid reader all of her life. A deep love for books always had her jotting down little stories on napkins, notebooks, and her hand. As an adult she was further submerged into the book world through book clubs and the epicness of social media. It was then that she graduated to writing her stories on her phone and then finally on a proper computer.

A nursing student, mother to two rambunctious and somewhat rotten boys, and stepmom to two great girls away at college, she shares her time with her husband in Chicago where she was born and raised. Mandi is a diehard hockey fan and blames the Blackhawks when her deadlines are not met.

Emma Scott:

I write romances with flawed characters, characters with artistic hearts: builders, poets, and writers of various makes and models. I love to write book lovers; those who have found refuge, companionship, and escape in books, much as we do in real life. I like realism, honesty, authenticity in storytelling. I love to write about enduring love, soul-deep love, in as real a setting as I can make, but with big smooshy HEAs. I believe in diversity, open-mindedness, and inclusion. I like sweetness mixed with steam, love conquering all, and above all, hope. Love always wins.

Meghan Quinn:

A BLONDE AT HEART

Born in New York and raised in Southern California, Meghan has grown into a sassy, peanut butter eating, blonde haired swearing, animal hoarding lady. She is known to bust out and dance if “It’s Raining Men” starts beating through the air and heaven forbid you get a margarita in her, protect your legs because they may be humped.

Once she started commuting for an hour and twenty minutes every day to work for three years, she began to have conversations play in her head, real life, deep male voices and dainty lady coos kind of conversations. Perturbed and confused, she decided to either see a therapist about the hot and steamy voices running through her head or start writing them down. She decided to go with the cheaper option and started writing… enter her first novel, Caught Looking.

Now you can find the spicy, most definitely on the border of lunacy, kind of crazy lady residing in Colorado with the love of her life and her five, furry four legged children, hiking a trail or hiding behind shelves at grocery stores, wondering what kind of lube the nervous stranger will bring home to his wife. Oh and she loves a good boob squeeze!

Kate Stewart lives in Charleston, S.C. with her husband, Nick, and her naughty beagle, Sadie. A native of Dallas, Kate moved to Charleston three weeks after her first visit, dropping her career of 8 years, and declaring it her creative muse. Kate pens messy, sexy, angst-filled contemporary romance as well as romantic comedy and erotic suspense because it’s what she loves as a reader. A lover of all things ’80s and ’90s, especially John Hughes films and rap, she dabbles a little in photography, can knit a simple stitch scarf for necessity only and does a horrible job of playing the ukulele. Crank by Adriana Locke

Crank by Adriana Locke

This is one mistake Sienna Landry can’t buy her way out of.

As Walker Gibson looks at her, then at the damage to his precious truck (that she may or may not have accidentally inflicted), she knows she’s in trouble. It’s not the busted headlight and dented grill that’s sunk her though. It’s the downright sinful man in front of her that’s the problem.

The small town mechanic is broody. Rough. Smells like engine grease and gasoline and Sienna isn’t sure why that’s so sexy, but it is. It so is. She’s ready to peel off her panties at the drop of his wrench.

He wants her too. She can feel it when he brushes against her. Experience it as he presses her against the wall of the shop. It’s thinly veiled in his deep, brown eyes when he looks at her like she’s everything he’s ever wanted. So why won’t he give in?

The damage to Walker’s truck is the first of many mistakes between the two of them, ending with truths that rock Sienna’s world. Nothing can fix her broken heart except the love of a man that won’t, maybe even can’t, love her back.

Crank is a standalone romance in a new small town, blue-collar series from USA Today bestselling author Adriana Locke. Join readers everywhere as they fall in love with the delicious Gibson Boys.

Okay, I’m going to cut to the chase and tell you I loved this book. If you just want to know if I loved it or not, know I loved it and thought this is one of best pieces of work from Adriana Locke.

Now let’s talk about the why. One of the biggest reasons that this book, and specifically Sienna Landry, spoke to me was the depth of her character. If you’ve read the Landry series, one thing you remember is that Sienna has wanted independence from her family for awhile. She doesn’t want to be estranged or anything drastic, but Sienna wants to live her life, and be her own person. She doesn’t want to be in the shadow of her last name. This aspect comes through so strongly in scenes where she specifically says this, but her behavior throughout the book echos her character’s actual desires. The Sienna Landry that we see in the Landry series is the same Sienna Landry we get here.

When Walker and Sienna first meet, Sienna gets herself into a mess after swinging a bat into Walker’s truck. At one point, Sienna tells Walker that she is a woman of her word, and she truly is. You can rely on Sienna Landry.

Walker Gibson has issues. Some small, some big. The author presents Walker in a unique way and I appreciate that. We see some flashes of his past and you start to understand why he’s so skittish. Again, I enjoy that these characters and their individual stories have a lot of depth and it’s clear that the author let everyone develop fully.

This story is the start of the Gibson Brothers Series and I loved the slivers of the other brothers that we get to see. It’s enough to definitely make me want the other stories and get a small inkling of what might be coming. I liked this as a reader but I also thought it was a smart move on the author’s part too. This series is set in a small town in Illinois and the author nailed it. The way the small town is portrayed, the seasons, the pop vs soda issue (it’s always pop, obviously). The detail that the author chose to pay attention to and incorporate is priceless.

If you’ve never read this author before, then you can read this book and know you are getting an amazing piece of her work. If you’re already a fan of Adriana Locke, I can confidently say you will love this story. The depth, the story itself, the details; all are fantastic and make this story a must-read for me.

Keeper by Amy Daws- Audiobook

Keeper by Amy Daws

They were best friends until they became roommates.

Booker Harris has spent the last several years pushing himself to become the best goalkeeper in the Championship League. Tired of living in the shadows of his headline-splashing brothers, he has finally carved a path of his own.
As a child, Poppy McAdams was content in her own little make-believe world, until the boy next door with dimples and pained eyes came barreling into her makeshift fort demanding all her attention.
Best friends for most of their lives, everything changes when Poppy abruptly leaves London for University.
Now she is back, and gone is the awkward girl from Booker’s youth. She has been replaced by a stunning woman with secrets.
Secrets that Booker is desperate to know.
Sharing a bedroom wall with your best friend from childhood quickly turns to anything but sweet and innocent.
I have always seen people loving audiobooks, but I’ve never tried it before. I think I was always scared that I would end up zoning the story out and hours would pass and I would realize that I had no idea what was going on.
I was wrong.
I was given the opportunity to check out “Keeper” by Amy Daws in audiobook. And I am absolutely loving it. Having dual narration from Will Watt and Charlotte Cole really brings this entire story to life. I never really guessed that this would matter, to be totally honest. But it does and from the moment I started listening, this story literally seemed to come to life in my mind. Hearing their voices made me feel like I was right in the moment. It was fantastic.
The story of Booker and Poppy is really sweet and while you would call it friends to lovers, I appreciated the direction the author took with this story. In the past, I’ve always felt like some friends to lovers have taken the path of one friend liking the other and the other person treating the first like a jerk. This story does have a slight tinge of that, but Booker and Poppy’s past is more about miscommunication and being young.
This book is absolutely hilarious. One of my favorite facets of these characters is how real they are. One scene that comes to my mind is when Poppy and Booker are first living together. Poppy is immediately worrying about going poo. Later, Booker is worrying about the bathroom arrangements and trying to remember to put the seat down. It was just this hilarious inner monologue that you know people have thought before. The humor made these characters come to life for me, and the added bonus of experiencing this story in audio only made it better.
I can’t recommend this book enough. It’s already fantastic in written form, but I highly recommend allowing yourself the enjoyment of the audiobook. The narrators bring Booker and Poppy off of the page and into real life. A must-read and a must-listen to!

“I thought you were beautiful the first time I saw you in the rain…”

Dylan:

The sudden death of Dylan’s father was a wake-up call.

After pouring a decade of his life into his company, Dylan felt like had nothing to show for it. No wife, no kids, no family. With no destination in mind, he sells his company and wanders the world, eventually finding himself in Silver Springs…

Bonnie:

Bonnie Kincaid is also on the run… for her life. The police can’t keep her safe. Things look hopeless when her car breaks down in the remote mountains of Colorado. A handsome man rescues her, fixes her car, but also gives her a reason to stop running. For the first time in a long time, she feels safe.

Unfortunately, both Bonnie and Dylan’s pasts catch up with them, and in order to put down roots to grow a family, they have to stop running.

But they aren’t finished with her yet…

Sometimes, running can lead you where you were meant to be all along…

Bonnie is running from trouble that really isn’t her own. Dylan is running from the stress of his own life. Dylan decides to help his friends, Mia and Carter at their Mountain Hope Ranch in Silver Springs, Colorado. Bonnie enters the picture when she tries to gain a scenic view and her old, beat-up car just can’t quite make it. A little luck leads her to the ranch, where Dylan opens the door and everything changes.

One thing I really enjoyed about this story was that we see both Dylan and Bonnie gaining some insights into themselves, and it was sweet to see. For Dylan, he wasn’t happy just working. Doing something that makes a difference was valuable for him. For Bonnie, you could tell she didn’t like being on the run. She doesn’t want to be running. I think seeing her realize that although her life is changing, she can still help special needs children, and still have her own life, was really powerful. So many times, things don’t go as we expect and we might let ourselves become derailed in the process.

The one part of the story that I didn’t like as much was the suspense. I feel like I understood the need for some drama in the story but I felt like it was a bit unnecessary.  I found it to be more distracting, when Bonnie kept referring to “them”. Again, I understood it, I just didn’t love it.

Overall, this book is sweet, loving read. A lot of readers will enjoy seeing Bonnie and Dylan find love, and also to see their paths before each other.

The Christmas Cowboy Hero by Donna Grant

A Christmas Cowboy Hero (1)

The Christmas Cowboy Hero by Donna Grant

New York Times bestselling author Donna Grant returns to Texas, where a small-town legend just might find the greatest gift of all in The Christmas Cowboy Hero

’Tis the season for ex-Navy SEAL Clayton East to come home for the holidays—even if the mood at home is anything but festive. His father is ill. The East Ranch is in financial trouble. And now it’s on Clayton, the prodigal son, to make sure his family doesn’t lose everything.

Headstrong Abby Harper is like a mother to her younger brothers, who she’s helped raise since she was a teenager. Keeping them in line is no small task while she’s also working toward her college degree. And now that one of her brothers has been arrested for stealing cattle at the East Ranch, Abby is at her wits’ end. But there is a silver lining: Clayton East. He believes in second chances, and is willing to give one to her brother this Christmas. Letting beautiful Abby—and the inescapable longing in his heart—off the hook, however, is a whole ’nother story. Could it be that the woman of this local hero’s dreams has been back at home all along?

So when I started prepping my  review of this latest release from Donna Grant, I kept thinking it was a novella. Then I looked and realized this book is over 300 pages in length. So one of the big things I can say about this story is that it moves quickly and it’s definitely a story that sucks the reader in. When I started it, I felt like I was halfway through in no time at all. For me, I love stories that flow this well.

Our story starts out with Clayton East avoiding calls from his mother, back in Texas. Clayton is an ex-Navy SEAL and is working in South Africa, protecting animals from poachers. (Yeah, I was swooning in the first chapter). Then he finally takes the call from his mother, where he learns the East Ranch is in major trouble.

We then meet Abby Harper, where she’s running to the police station because her brother, Brice, has been arrested. The crime? Stealing cattle from the East Ranch. Abby is devastated since she’s been raising her brothers since she was 18. With a mother who ran out on them, Abby and her brothers only have each other. Clayton and Abby immediately have an attraction to each other. Clayton decides to extend a second-chance to Brice, by allowing him to work off his major debt to the ranch, instead of pressing charges against him.

While this is happening, Clayton and his family are also dealing with the realization that their CPA embezzled a significant amount of money from them. Abby works for a different CPA in town as an assistant and starts helping Clayton look through the financial records for the ranch.

“No, Abby Harper, I’m going to pay you what you should’ve been earning all this time. You’re worth it.”

This quote really stuck with me while reading. Several times in the story, Clayton lets Abby know that she’s worth it, and someone else’s loss is his gain. Abby’s brothers realize the sacrifices she’s made for them, even though Abby never mentions it, never complains. So to see Clayton see these things in her, and make her feel valued and appreciated, it was like Abby was able to blossom when she was around the East family. This was especially heartwarming to see because as the reader goes along, you realize how much Abby really has done for her family.

This story might be one of my favorite Christmas stories. You get all of the Christmas activity, but then we see forgiveness, fresh starts, love, and even suspense. This is a Christmas novel that any reader could enjoy because there is a little bit of something for everyone.

Cuffed by K. Bromberg

Cuffed

Cuffed by K. Bromberg

From the New York Times bestselling author, K. Bromberg, comes a new series about three brothers, the job that calls them, and the women who challenge them.

“I hate you. I never want to see you again.”

Grant Malone is not the reason I moved back to Sunnyville—at least that’s what I tell myself. Yet, those parting words I said to him back in third grade, ring in my ears every time a townsperson brings up one of the Malone boys. I thought time had healed my wounds. I was wrong. Nothing could have prepared me for how I felt when I finally saw him again.

Twenty years does a lot to turn a boy into a man. One who hits all my buttons—sexy, funny, attractive, and a police officer. But Grant is off limits because he knows too much about my past.

But I’m drawn to him. That damn uniform of his doesn’t hurt either. It’ll be my downfall. I know it.

What’s one night of sex going to hurt . . . right?

***

I’ve always loved Emmy Reeves.

That’s why I’m shocked to see her all these years later. The shy girl I once knew is all grown up.

Adventurous and full of life, she owns my heart now, just as much as she did back then. Convincing her of that is a whole different story.

I’ll give her the one night she asks for—like that’s a hardship—but when it comes to letting her walk away after, she has another thing coming. There’s no way in hell I’m letting her go this time without a fight.

GoodReads:  http://bit.ly/2atr83J

K. Bromberg is one amazing author. I’m not new to her work, but I admit I haven’t read The Driven series, which is the series that everyone seems to know her for. But every time I get the opportunity to dive into her new work, I’m always blown away. This author takes topics that are tough, or even unusual in the book world, and the words flow seamlessly.

Emerson Reeves and Grant Malone are best friends in the third grade. But Emerson has a secret, one that Grant tells. Grant never sees Emmy again. Not until she pops up in Sunnyville, 20 years later and calling him “Officer Sexy”. But that’s before she realizes who he is.

One of my favorite aspects of both Grant and Emmy is that they are both doing their own thing before they run into each other. Neither one is looking for anything serious and neither one is lacking a slumber party partner. We see male characters like this frequently, but we don’t always see the female characters in this way and I appreciated that.

Emmy is one tough woman. She is this skydiving, stubborn, intelligent, sexy woman. This character is where we see the author shine. Emmy has been through a lot through her life; and while parts of her past may haunt her, it never defines her. Emmy is living her life, and she is willing to leap.

About Damn Time Teaser

Grant Malone is something else. Lord, I am happy my town does not have their own Grant Malone on the police force because the ladies would be committing crimes to get into his handcuffs. He’s the son of the former Police Chief of Sunnyville and he has aspirations for himself. He’s handsome and he knows it. He’s also a good man. He had his eyes on Emmy before he knew it and now that he’s an adult, he won’t let her go this time.

This story is fantastically written and readers experience everything from humor to heartbreak and back again. The author tackles tough situations with her characters but the story never becomes dark nor does it diminish the realities that Emmy or Grant are experiencing.

This book isn’t just about the past, it’s not just about second-chances, it’s not just about fun with handcuffs. It’s so much more than any of these tropes and it goes beyond humor, heartbreak, or redemption. A must-read for anyone who wants a story that will truly pull at your heart, all while making you cheer for the characters.
