They’re not quite enemies. Not really friends. More like frustrated balls of sexual tension and neither will give in.

Lance Gibson drives Mariah Malarkey absolutely crazy. He uses her office like a phone booth, takes cupcakes from the corner of her desk like she baked them just for him. She didn’t. Maybe she knew the history teacher happened to love peanut butter icing, but that was purely a coincidence. All sixteen times.

Mariah has a way of getting under Lance’s skin too. She calls him out on his crap, spoils him even if inadvertently, and seeing the librarian in skirts drives him wild. She won’t give in. It’s for the best, really, considering there’s no way he could lie to a woman like that and he’s not about to tell her the truth about himself. Not in a million years.

These two don’t hate each other. They don’t really like each other. But for this to be a friends-to-lovers story, they have to start somewhere, right?

Note: This can be read as a standalone novel.

This book will make you hungry. If you don’t end up wanting peanut butter frosting, lemon bars, and Coke with the good ice, then you have amazing willpower. The kind of willpower that Mariah and Lance definitely lack…

This couple had a really good chemistry level, and it was appropriate for their story. Another aspect I loved about this story was, as readers, we really get to see how this couple draws each other out. Lance pulls out Mariah’s sexier side, and it’s not because he’s trying to do it, but because she has a comfortable with him. Mariah pulls out Lance’s more serious side, and again, it’s because of his comfort and trust in her.

This couple isn’t without their conflicts though. Mariah and her mother have a strained relationship and Lance has his own secrets that he’s hiding. I appreciated that while there are conflicts, they don’t all get resolved and I felt like that made sense for the story. I never felt like the author rushed through anything in order to make everything absolutely perfect for this couple. Mariah and Lance have to get to their own kind of perfect.

This book is the epitome of what I think of when I picture a small-town romance. It’s sweet; an easy read that I ended up reading in one sitting. The story has characters that show growth for themselves, not just each other. You can feel their love grow and you truly experience it happen. This will go down as one of my favorite books from Adriana Locke.

Renner’s Rules by K. Webster

Renner's Rules Front Only (1)

I’m a bad girl.
I was sent away.
New house. New rules. New school.
Change was supposed to be…good.
Until I met him.
No one warned me Principal Renner would be so hot.
I’d expected some old, graying man in a brown suit.
Not this.
Not well over six feet of lean muscle and piercing green eyes.
Not a rugged-faced, ax-wielding lumberjack of a man.
He’s grouchy and rude and likes to boss me around.
I find myself getting in trouble just so he’ll punish me.
Especially with his favorite metal ruler.
Being bad never felt so good.
Teaser1 (1)
These taboo treats from K. Webster are so exceptional. They are quickly becoming my favorites to read. They move quickly, but yet I’m never left with plot holes. They’re steamy and ride a really fine line on the taboo aspect. But I never feel like I’m uncomfortable with the book, or that something is taken too far. To me, that is the mark of a great author.
This story features Elma and Adam, or Principal Renner. Elma is the 18yr old daughter to Adam’s best friend. She’s been sent to Adam because she was getting into trouble in her old school in Florida. But now she’s up staying with Principal Renner until she graduates.
One of the big things I loved about Adam and Elma’s relationship is that they seem to connect on a deeper level. They both seem to know what the other needs, just instinctively. It’s not necessarily some insane insta-love thing so much as when these two are together, it’s almost like their true nature is able to come out and just be.
I have only read two of the books in the Taboo Treats world but one thing I really respect is that the characters never just find love and their life is done. Each character has ambitions and dreams that they still are working at and following. I feel like that is a strange thing to notice or even care about it, but I truly appreciate it.
Renner’s Rules is an easy and quick read that will have you wishing Adam Renner was your Principal, now and forever.

Hidden Seams by Alessandra Torre

From a New York Times Bestseller, a story of a billion-dollar fortune, and the sex, lies, and betrayal that surround it…

I’ve worked a decade for this fortune. I’ve sold my soul and my reputation. I’ve lived a lie, smiled for the cameras, and hated myself, all for this empire.

And then … she pops up. A mysterious heir with a rap sheet, combat boots, and a mouth that I want to pin shut with my– It doesn’t matter.

I’ve played this game for a decade. I can continue the charade a little longer, keep my hands to myself and her body out of my mind.

I can keep my secret until the ink dries and everything is mine.
Or not.

When I think of Alessandra Torre, the first word that comes to my mind is refreshing. With her latest release, Hidden Seams, she continues to be a dynamic and refreshing writer, spinning tales that manage to surprise the reader, while still maintaining the style that her readers love.

Marco is one intriguing man. I don’t want to call him troubled but he’s got some issues that he needs to work out. The more we learn about Marco, the more you feel for him. He’s gotten himself into a beneficial mess. The problem with a mess? You still have to clean it up at some point.

Avery is exceptional. I loved her the moment I met her. I feel like no words I use are adequate to describe her. She’s rough around the edges, caring, curious. She isn’t going to put up with just anything. She’s street smart and knows how to handle herself. That said, she does still have a vulnerable and naive side to her. We see that peak out from time to time and for me, that only made me love her character more.

This book is an easy read, and I managed to stay sucked into the story from the minute I started. I tried taking a break and I found myself wondering what was happening and what could happen next. You could easily lose yourself in this story.

The chemistry, and in particular, the sex scenes in this book are fantastic. You could feel the sexual tension between these two. You honestly could feel the intensity and passion of these two characters; it felt like it jumped right off the page. It was fantastic.

If you like books that take your preconceived ideas and twist them up, you’ll love this book. You would also love this book if you want to feel like you are right in the story. Everything just jumped off the page and I could see it so vividly in my mind. An absolutely amazing book from Alessandra Torre.

We aren’t responsible for melted devices.

Mandi Beck (Sin Bin)
Meghan Quinn (Back in the Game)
Rochelle Paige (Slapped Into Love)
Sara Ney (Switch Hitter)

When I got a chance to get my hands on this book, I was so excited because some of my absolute favorite authors are in this series.

One of my favorites was Cross by Adriana Locke. If you’re a fan of Adriana, you might remember a fleeting appearance of Cross in her book, Crank. But even if you haven’t, that’s okay. This story is a standalone from her other series. I already love Adriana, but this book just made me love her more.

Watching Kallie and Cross fall in love for a second time was awesome. Kallie and Cross once were a thing, but sometimes, the timing isn’t right. Personally, seeing this second-chance love story go at things from a different angle was great. I say this because a lot of second-chance stories are more about getting the chance to find a great love one more time with someone new. Here, our couple was in love before but the timing wasn’t right. Both of them needed to grow, to mature, so when they got the chance to come back together, their previous love was heightened.

This should be somewhat secondary to the love story but for me, one of my favorite parts was seeing the small town of Linton, Illinois just come to life. In the very beginning of “Cross”, we see Kallie recalling different memories from the town. The author captures that small-town life, but also the nostalgia that accompanies coming home perfectly.

I really appreciated that there was no instalove in this story, and that several other authors approached the anthology in ways that made sense for an accelerated love story. Nothing wrong with instalove, but a whole anthology of it would have been a little too much, in my opinion.

If you love sports romance, you need to one-click this series.

Crank by Adriana Locke

Crank by Adriana Locke

This is one mistake Sienna Landry can’t buy her way out of.

As Walker Gibson looks at her, then at the damage to his precious truck (that she may or may not have accidentally inflicted), she knows she’s in trouble. It’s not the busted headlight and dented grill that’s sunk her though. It’s the downright sinful man in front of her that’s the problem.

The small town mechanic is broody. Rough. Smells like engine grease and gasoline and Sienna isn’t sure why that’s so sexy, but it is. It so is. She’s ready to peel off her panties at the drop of his wrench.

He wants her too. She can feel it when he brushes against her. Experience it as he presses her against the wall of the shop. It’s thinly veiled in his deep, brown eyes when he looks at her like she’s everything he’s ever wanted. So why won’t he give in?

The damage to Walker’s truck is the first of many mistakes between the two of them, ending with truths that rock Sienna’s world. Nothing can fix her broken heart except the love of a man that won’t, maybe even can’t, love her back.

Crank is a standalone romance in a new small town, blue-collar series from USA Today bestselling author Adriana Locke. Join readers everywhere as they fall in love with the delicious Gibson Boys.

Okay, I’m going to cut to the chase and tell you I loved this book. If you just want to know if I loved it or not, know I loved it and thought this is one of best pieces of work from Adriana Locke.

Now let’s talk about the why. One of the biggest reasons that this book, and specifically Sienna Landry, spoke to me was the depth of her character. If you’ve read the Landry series, one thing you remember is that Sienna has wanted independence from her family for awhile. She doesn’t want to be estranged or anything drastic, but Sienna wants to live her life, and be her own person. She doesn’t want to be in the shadow of her last name. This aspect comes through so strongly in scenes where she specifically says this, but her behavior throughout the book echos her character’s actual desires. The Sienna Landry that we see in the Landry series is the same Sienna Landry we get here.

When Walker and Sienna first meet, Sienna gets herself into a mess after swinging a bat into Walker’s truck. At one point, Sienna tells Walker that she is a woman of her word, and she truly is. You can rely on Sienna Landry.

Walker Gibson has issues. Some small, some big. The author presents Walker in a unique way and I appreciate that. We see some flashes of his past and you start to understand why he’s so skittish. Again, I enjoy that these characters and their individual stories have a lot of depth and it’s clear that the author let everyone develop fully.

This story is the start of the Gibson Brothers Series and I loved the slivers of the other brothers that we get to see. It’s enough to definitely make me want the other stories and get a small inkling of what might be coming. I liked this as a reader but I also thought it was a smart move on the author’s part too. This series is set in a small town in Illinois and the author nailed it. The way the small town is portrayed, the seasons, the pop vs soda issue (it’s always pop, obviously). The detail that the author chose to pay attention to and incorporate is priceless.

If you’ve never read this author before, then you can read this book and know you are getting an amazing piece of her work. If you’re already a fan of Adriana Locke, I can confidently say you will love this story. The depth, the story itself, the details; all are fantastic and make this story a must-read for me.

-T.M. Frazier, USA Today Bestselling Author

Bad Penny, an all-new romantic comedy standalone from Staci Hart is now LIVE!

cover-wrap-penny copy 4.57.20 PM

Synopsis

Nothing good comes after the third date.

See, date three is the crucial point when things get real, which is exactly why I bounce out the door, twiddling my fingers at whatever poor boy I’ve left behind. Because if I stick around, one of three things will happen: he’ll profess his undying love, he gets weird and stalky, or I’ll go crazy. Like, Sid and Nancy crazy. Like, chase-him-through-the-streets-begging-him-to-love-me crazy.

Seriously, it’s better for everyone this way.

So when I meet Bodie, I figure it’ll be the same as it ever was. It doesn’t matter that he doesn’t put a single string on me. Doesn’t matter that he’s funny and smart and jacked and can play my body like a grand piano. Because even though I’m built for love, love has only carved me up like a Christmas ham.

Resistance is something I can only hang on to for so long, and he has persistence in spades. But my heart isn’t as safe as I want to believe, and neither is his. And the second I ignore my cardinal rule is the second I stand to lose him forever.

About the Author

Staci has been a lot of things up to this point in her life — a graphic designer, an entrepreneur, a seamstress, a clothing and handbag designer, a waitress. Can’t forget that. She’s also been a mom, with three little girls who are sure to grow up to break a number of hearts. She’s been a wife, though she’s certainly not the cleanest, or the best cook. She’s also super, duper fun at a party, especially if she’s been drinking whiskey.

From roots in Houston to a seven year stint in Southern California, Staci and her family ended up settling somewhere in between and equally north, in Denver. They are new enough that snow is still magical. When she’s not writing, she’s reading, sleeping, gaming, or designing graphics.

Unique Facts About The Author, Derek Adam:

  • The first time I ever saved a life was during a clinical rotation 2 weeks into my training academy. Just after arriving to work the ER for the first time, I found myself with an elderly patient who coded in front of me. We were able to bring her back via CPR. I promptly went out to my car and cried. I was hooked.
  • I’m big into gaming, it’s one of my top hobbies. Every year I participate in the Extra Life 24 hour gaming marathon to help raise money for Children’s Miracle Network 🙂
  • I can play piano, and guitar, but can’t read sheet music. I learned to play everything by ear
  • I’m 37 this year and desperately wish I had a Powerwheel of my own. Not a big go cart. or a little race car. I was a big plastic, electric Powerwheel. I get jealous when I watch my kids drive theirs.
  • Siberian Husky is my favorite breed of dog, and I look forward to adding another to our family someday soon.
